Beast of the East and Lil Beast establish two-format concept in Mammoth Lakes

Owners BJ James and Toshiko Casas launched Beast of the East and neighboring Lil Beast at 26 Old Mammoth Road around the start of August, with subsequent September tourism coverage identifying both as newly open. Beast of the East combines Japanese, Thai, Korean and Chinese influences, while Lil Beast operates as a Japanese convenience-store-inspired grab-and-go market.

Box Factory prepares fall food-hall launch in Sonora

The Box Factory remains under development at 14993 Camage Avenue in Sonora with a planned fall 2026 launch.
