City materials said public comment closed June 30 and that the final plan was expected to be presented to City Council in August 2026, with options related to maintaining the State Street Promenade or changing the current configuration.

Ancora Osteria opens in Montecito’s Upper Village
Ancora Osteria opened August 13 at 1483 East Valley Road, taking over the former Via Vai restaurant space. Brothers Luca and Francesco Crestanelli are behind the project; their other local concepts include S.Y. Kitchen in Santa Ynez and Nella Kitchen & Bar in Los Olivos.

Milio’s Pizza brings New York-style slices to State Street
Milio’s Pizza opened August 14 at 801 State Street in downtown Santa Barbara. Chefs and business partners Kamil Jumale and Miles Robbins met while working together in London and developed the project as their first independent restaurant.

Slice House opens Ventura location
