Kern County
Kern County supervisors approved an updated sidewalk vending ordinance for unincorporated areas during the reporting period. The updated rules require individuals selling goods on public sidewalks in these areas to first obtain permits through the Kern County Sheriff’s Office. Vendors must also keep a certain amount of sidewalk space open for pedestrians, with administrative fines starting at $100 for those in violation.
