Easing of Cal/OSHA COVID-19 workplace rules and a look to 2024

The state legislature has resumed its session, and has until February 16th to propose new legislation. Last year, 3,028 proposed new laws were seen. Last week, Governor Newsom announced that the state is facing a budget deficit of approximately $38 billion. The state budget process will take place between now and July 1st and will play a crucial role in determining what new legislation California will see. The CRA will remain involved in those deliberations and will continue to safeguard local restaurants. Lastly, the state has relaxed some employer requirements related to Cal/OSHA COVID-19 workplace rules, and Sabrina will provide more information on this in this week’s News You Need to Know.
