The CRA Focuses on Rising Costs & Opposes a New Menu-Labeling Bill
April 22, 2025
In the latest CRA survey, members made it clear that skyrocketing costs are their number one priority, so your Government Affairs team continues to fight against bills that would make things worse or proactively support legislation that will lessen the burden. Senate Bill 68 (SB 68) is one such burdensome bill that would require on-menu labeling for any of the top nine allergen ingredients.
The CRA has joined with Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) to oppose SB 68 because not only would it be costly for restaurants, but there are safer, more effective ways to give guests with food allergies the real-time information they need. We know guest safety is of the utmost importance and the CRA has a proud history of passing proactive training and safety measures in the state. SB 68 will be one to watch.
