(June 13, 2026)  SACRAMENTO, CA - The California Restaurant Association (CRA), the state’s oldest and largest nonprofit representing the foodservice community, proudly marks its 120th anniversary today. Since 1906, the CRA has supported restaurateurs through growth, innovation, cultural shifts, and challenges.

Over 120 years, California’s restaurant industry has evolved through changing consumer tastes, technology, workforce shifts, economic pressures, and public policy. In the past decade, operators faced wildfires, supply chain disruptions, labor shortages, new regulations, and the global pandemic. Despite these challenges, California’s restaurateurs remained resilient.

“California restaurants are more than dining venues. They are gathering places, job creators, cultural hubs, and community anchors,” said Jot Condie, President & CEO of the California Restaurant Association. “For 120 years, our members have shown remarkable resilience and dedication. Their commitment to feeding communities, employing neighbors, and serving with warmth defines our industry. We’re honored to support them today and, in the years, ahead.”

Today, the CRA continues to play a vital role in advancing and protecting the state’s foodservice industry through advocacy, compliance resources, training, legal support, and community-building.
