Regulatory Outreach Day 2017
CRA Board of Directors convenes for 7th annual Regulatory Outreach Day.
Every year in November, CRA holds a Regulatory Outreach Day, where the Board of Directors meets with the non-legislative side of state government. The Board of Directors is comprised of restaurant CEOs and executives from all over California who represent all restaurants from large, national chains to small, independent mom-and-pops.
The full day began with an overview of California’s economic and political future by CALmatters Political Columnist Dan Walters, followed by meetings with five different regulatory agencies: California Resources Recycling & Recovery, Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, Board of Equalization, California Labor and Workforce Development Agency, and California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
The Board had engaging and productive discussions with all the regulators on topics such as organic recycling mandates, Prop 65 enforcement and reform, restructuring of the BOE, upcoming minimum wage increases, and alcohol server training requirements. CRA and the Board of Directors appreciated the opportunity to meet with so many regulatory agencies in one day and continue to make our voices heard on issues that affect the restaurant industry, until the legislature reconvenes in January.
