A city-wide day of dining out to help LA restaurants affected by the fires
Since the LA fires began, even restaurants outside of evacuated areas have reported devastating impacts on their business. So, after a 4-year hiatus, the team behind The Great American Takeout is returning to help restaurants and foodservice workers throughout the city. On Wednesday, January 29, we’re asking everyone in LA to go out for at least one meal, take a photo of their food and post it on social media with #TheGreatLosAngelesDineOut. For every post using the hashtag, one of our sponsors OpenTable, Delicato Family Wines, Rich Products and ChowNow will donate $5 (up to $85,000) to Restaurants Care.
If your LA restaurant wants to participate in The Great Los Angeles Dine Out, please visit thegreatamericantakeout.com, click the DOWNLOAD ASSETS button in the upper right corner and use any of the free content to promote the event on your social media channels.
Let’s make it a record day for restaurants all across LA!
It’s not unusual for the restaurant community to rally in the aftermath of a natural disaster to be of service. But the stories coming out of Los Angeles are truly remarkable. Not only are restaurants feeding first responders and evacuees, fundraisers are being held across the country to support the Red Cross or organizations like World Central Kitchen. This article includes a roundup of some of those efforts, including a highlight of the California Restaurant Association Foundation’s Restaurants Care fund to directly support food and beverage workers.
