ASCAP joins California Restaurant Association to provide licensed music to restaurants
(Sacramento, CA) – The California Restaurant Association is excited to announce that it is partnering with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) to deliver licensed music, provided at a discount to thousands of restaurants, bars and night clubs.
ASCAP is a professional membership organization of more than 585,000 composers, songwriters and music publishers. The organization connects this creative community to business owners who can then play a wide variety of music for their customers to enjoy.
Businesses are required to license music before using it, and luckily, ASCAP is home to some of the greatest names in American music – from Duke Ellington to Katy Perry, from George Gershwin to Jay-Z, from Leonard Bernstein to Alicia Keys. ASCAP pioneered the efficient licensing of music to hundreds of thousands of enterprises who use it to add value to their business - from bars, restaurants and retail, to radio, TV and cable, to Internet, mobile services and more. One annual ASCAP license gives businesses permission to play millions of songs.
ASCAP, which is joining CRA as a service provider, is offering an additional 10 percent discount for new ASCAP licensees who are members of the CRA.
