EH is experiencing a high increase in operating costs and will need to increase permit and fee charges across the board by 27% in order to continue to operate. After deliberations with the California Restaurant Association, EH is proposing to smooth out these increases by increasing fees across the board by 9% over the next three fiscal years in lieu of a 27% onetime increase. This increase will insure that restaurants and other food providers will be able to receive not only annual inspections but also quicker re-inspections by EH.
The multi-year fee amendments would consisted of: 9% increase effective August 1, 2015, 9% increase effective August 1, 2016, and 9% increase effective August 1, 2017. The table below provides examples of some proposed fee increases.
