The City of San Jose will host an informational session regarding the proposed ordinance to ban food establishments from using Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) containers. The meeting is slated for 2:30 to 4 p.m. Monday at the Tully Library Community Room, 880 Tully Road.
Foodservice operators are urged to attend this important meeting to voice concerns and opposition to a ban on these products.
Restaurants, caterers, delis and other food providers will see operating costs rise as expanded polystyrene foam foodservice wares are two to three times more affordable than replacement products, which in some cases do not perform as well, especially for very hot and cold food and beverages.
