Concluding a full day of government affairs at the California Restaurant Association’s (CRA) Lobby Day event, attendees were joined by hundreds of local restaurant operators, legislators and their staff as well as other supporters at the third annual Rock ’n Restaurants event at Crest Theatre in a celebration of the restaurant industry.
Inside the historic downtown Sacramento theatre guests were greeted by an ornamental gateway with the quote, “When You Pass Through This Portal, You Leave All Cares Behind.” The saying proved prescient as the event became filled with people enjoying small bites, drinks and live music.
Up-and-coming pop sensation Ivy Levan put on a raucous show for guests – moving through an assortment of songs she likes to refer to as, “Swamp Pop.” By the end of her performance, she had most of the crowd energized and ready to move across the street to Dive Bar for an after party.
The Rock ’n Restaurants event succeeded in raising $93,500 for the CRA’s Issues Political Action Committee, nearly 50% more than the amount raised from the 2013 event.
