CRA Educational Foundation, Habit Burger Grill team to raise funds at WFHE
(SACRAMENTO, Aug. 1, 2012) – The California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (CRAEF) will join forces with the Habit Burger Grill to raise money and awareness about the foundation at the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo Aug. 12-14 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
In its third year, the Foundation’s campaign, “Make it a Habit to Support CRAEF,” will reward show attendees who donate at least $5 with vouchers for a free Charburger with cheese at any of the Irvine-based company’s 60 locations in California and Arizona.
Habit has donated thousands of burger vouchers to entice attendees to open their wallets, resulting in more than $20,000 raised at previous shows, and at soft opening events at new Habit locations.
The cash will benefit CRAEF’s ProStart program, which provides adopted schools with expanded curriculum, field trips, paid internships, guest speakers, job shadowing, competition costs, ServSafe certification, equipment, supplies and food. There are 5,300 students enrolled in ProStart classes in 80 high schools across California, including seven in Orange County.
“CRAEF's mission to nurture the next generation of foodservice business leaders inspires us to get involved and do what we can to ensure the future of our vital industry,” said Russ Bendel, president and CEO of the Habit Burger Grill.
Stop by booth No. 1566 at WFHE to learn more. Interview opportunities with ProStart instructors and students, as well as CRAEF staff, are available.
