The Affordable Care Act requires all employers covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act to give existing employees written notice by Oct. 1 about the existence of new government health insurance marketplaces, including Covered California. Employers will be required to provide the notice to employees within 14 days of hiring starting in 2014.
The tool, at restaurant.org/notify, is free and available exclusively to NRA members. The tool allows restaurant companies to create custom portals where they can send their employees for the FLSA-required notice.
The tool includes:
- an online form where employees can view the notice
- documented proof employees have received the notice
- simplified reporting and recordkeeping.
