The mandate, and its enforcement and assesment of fines, will now go into effect in January 2015.
"We have heard concerns about the complexity of the requirements and the need for more time to implement them effectively," said Mazur in a blog post this afternoon.
The mandate is one of the most complex and controversial portions of the new law - many restaurateurs have expressed concerns on runaway costs, reporting mandates and uncertainty about who among their employees is eligible.
Mazur stated that the department was looking to find ways to simplify the reporting requirements in the upcoming year.
"Today's news relieves some pressure on operators who are doing everything in their power to prepare for the ACA's many changes." said CRA president + CEO Jot Condie.
