As the second-largest private-sector employer in the state, the restaurant industry has long been a favorite workplace for high school and college students in search of entry-level jobs and flexible hours. And in a dynamic and rapidly evolving economy, the industry recognizes their vital role in providing job opportunities to today’s youth. Both Wienerschnitzel and BJ’s Restaurants have already pledged $10,000 at the Premier sponsorship level while Johnny Rocket’s has donated $5,000, Rubio’s $2,500 and The Sardine Factory $2,500. The Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers, Waves University and The Habit Burger Grill have all also made significant contributions in support of FIT™ Day.
“Because of industry support, FIT™ is shaping up to be an amazing day of service,” CRAEF Director, Alycia Harshfield said. “When the industry comes together, we demonstrate not only our generosity but also our sincere belief in young talent and in the importance of providing first-time job opportunities to develop tomorrow’s leaders.”
FIT™ Day will take place Oct. 28, 2014. To get involved as a sponsor, participating school or volunteer, contact email@example.com. Additional details can be found on calrest.org/fit.
