The three-part seminars will feature a seminar involving the Affordable Care Act with Matthew Sears, executive vice president of the Leavitt Group. The session will cover a broad range of topics, including background information, a look of what has already taken place and prudent next steps as restaurateurs take to navigating changes to be in compliance with the new law this fall.
Special attention will also be given to the employer mandate or "employer shared responsibility." This is of special interest to groups that do not currently offer health coverage or offer coverage based on a management curve only.
Other seminars in the series include a presentation on the Top 10 issues facing employers, with Alden J. Parker of Weintraub Tobin, a CRA Legal Center firm.Topics will include class action litigation on wage and hour issues, ADA access cases and discrimination and harassment suits. The third session will provide information on Group Capitve alternatives, with Joe Colaluca, senior vice president of Captive Resources Inc.
