The first-of-its-kind leadership summit will gather 200 high school students, aspiring young professionals and the city’s top hospitality industry players. A sponsor of the event, the CRA Los Angeles chapter was instrumental to bringing the event to L.A. Live.
Two hundred ProStart students from eight L.A.-area high schools – many of whom are at risk and have limited exposure to higher education – will participate in the event. ProStart is a nationwide, two-year high school program that unites the classroom and industry to develop the best and brightest talent into tomorrow’s restaurant and foodservice leaders.
The half-day event will kick off with a continental breakfast and an address by Carlito Jocson, executive chef and partner at Yard House Restaurants. Students will then divide up for tours at some of the city’s highest profile restaurants and entertainment venues, accompanied by industry professionals and Cal Poly students majoring in hospitality. The event will conclude with an interactive networking lunch.
