The city council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 777 B St., Hayward.
The city approved a trial program in June 2012 that allows full-service restaurants to offer happy hours featuring reduced-price alcohol sales, provided reduced-price appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages also are offered from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and live and recorded entertainment until midnight.
Several community groups are asking the council to adopt a law that is more restrictive than what is being proposed by city staff. It’s important for the council members to hear from restaurant operators today.
Consider attending the meeting and writing to the council to urge them to codify the trial program.
