A UC Berkeley alum, Rajan served as aide for both U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer and Phil Angelides before moving into the private sector for 14 years. As a business development executive, Rajan managed business partnerships that resulted in job creation and increase in shareholder value.
Rajan's returned to the political scene in 2008 when he was elected to the Walnut Creek City Council. During his tenure in Walnut Creek, Rajan focused on transportation improvement, education and economic development. In 2012, Gov. Brown took advantage of Rajan's nearly 20 years of experience, appointing him as the GO-Biz director.
The CRA's Lobby Day is an annual event that convenes restaurateurs, industry insiders and elected representatives to discuss California's evolving economic and political environment.
