COMMITTED TO HELPING RESTAURANTS COMPLY WITH HEALTH CARE REFORM, CRA TOUTS RESOURCES AVAILABLE AT THE WESTERN FOODSERVICE & HOSPITALITY EXPO
“Health care reform is top of mind for us, as well as thousands of restaurant operators across the state,” CRA President + CEO Jot Condie said. “As the second-largest private-sector employer in California, we understand that the scope of these changes is massive, and the true costs are yet to be determined. In light of that, operators are looking for guidance and support, and we’re dedicated to providing that for the industry.”
Operators featured in the publication include: Bob Spivak, president, CEO and founder of Grill Concepts Inc.;Adam Fleischman, CEO of Umami Burger; and Phil Singerman, president and CEO of Norm’s Restaurants.
In July, the Obama administration postponed the employer mandate enforcement deadline to January 2015. However, many operators will carry on with their planning, using 2014 as a testing period to try solutions and get a better idea of how much these changes will ultimately cost. More than 1.4 million Californians work in restaurants – with 283,000 in Los Angeles County alone.
The release of The Restaurant Standard was timed to coincide with the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo, which is slated for Aug. 18-20 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The CRA will host a Health Care Hub at the show (Booth 525), where restaurant operators can take advantage of one-on-one consultation opportunities with a slate of local, state and national experts, who will offer free, personalized advice about operators’ particular challenges related to the law.
In addition, two health care-focused education sessions also are planned:
- 12:45-1:30 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 18
