(May 5, 2015 Sacramento, California) – California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (CRAEF) announced Tuesday a new scholarship program, sponsored by Guy Fieri’s Cooking With Kids Foundation (CWK). The scholarships are available to California students who dream of furthering their education for a fulfilling career in foodservice.
Fieri, a long-time friend of CRAEF and an Emeritus board member, is partnering with CRAEF to award the scholarships. “I am excited that CWK is partnering with CRAEF to invest in the future of the industry,” says Fieri. “I am always impressed with the talent these kids have and with the right encouragement and opportunity, they are going to be very successful in this industry.”
CRAEF in collaboration with CWK will award a total of $20,000 in scholarship funds. To enter, along with the application, students submit a 30 second .mov video explaining their passion for cooking and what makes them a unique candidate. “We have always loved partnering with Guy to help educate and inspire our students,” says CRAEF Executive Director Alycia Harshfield. “We appreciate the excitement and generosity that Guy and the CWK Foundation is showing to our students. This is a great opportunity!”
