Culinary Clash launches online competitive fundraiser
The Culinary Clash: Battle Anaheim event benefiting the California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (CRAEF) is just weeks away. A public fundraising campaign launched on Facebook Monday, with the goals of raising funds for and awareness about the Foundation. Donors can use an easy payment module to give a gift, noting their favorite participating restaurant.
“We encourage anyone and everyone to like CRAEF on Facebook and join in the fun by making a small donation on behalf of their favorite restaurant,” CRAEF Executive Director Alycia Harshfield said. “Thousands of students across California dream of going to college and pursuing meaningful careers in the restaurant industry, and these contributions will go a long way in helping to support them and their schools.”
Held in conjunction with the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo, the Clash will pit 10 restaurant teams against each other in a cooking competition. The exec-chef teams will be assisted by ProStart students serving as sous chefs.
