The California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (CRAEF) is proud to partner with Guy Fieri to present the 2016 Guy Fieri Cooking With Kids (CWK) Scholarship. First introduced in 2015, the CWK Scholarship is a $20,000 scholarship awarded to students with a dream of pursuing higher education in the restaurant, foodservice and hospitality industries.
Restaurateur and television personality Guy Fieri founded Cooking With Kids in 2010. Fieri, a long-time friend of CRAEF and an Emeritus Board Member, is excited to partner with CRAEF to award this year’s scholarships.
“The ongoing partnership of my foundation, Cooking With Kids, with CRAEF is one that I’m incredibly proud to be a part of,” says Fieri. “As the industry continues to grow, the demand for skilled, well-trained individuals is only going to increase. This program provides the opportunities and the foundation for the next generation of culinary talent to succeed.”
In partnership with Cooking With Kids, CRAEF will award a total of $20,000 in scholarships to students from throughout the state. During the competitive application process, students must submit an essay, 30 second video and describe their previous work experience. Top applicants will then be interviewed by the CRAEF scholarship panel comprised of top educators and industry leaders.
Each year, the CRAEF Board of Directors awards dozens of scholarships to deserving high school seniors and undergraduates to further their studies. Worthy recipients are chosen on the basis of their overall scholastic achievement, enthusiasm, creativity and potential within the industry.
This year’s scholarship recipients will be announced in August.
