The San José/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant through the Fats Oils and Grease (FOG) program is proposing to amend the City of San José ordinances to enhance the existing FOG inspection program. The Plant tributary area services the cities of San Jose, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Cupertino, Saratoga, Campbell, Monte Sereno and portions of unincorporated areas. The proposed changes are relevant to food service enterprises throughout the Plant service area since contributing agencies will update their ordinances in keeping with San Jose ordinance changes.  These ordinance changes will codify the requirements in the Best Management Practices, currently used in the implementation of the inspection program. 

All food service facilities in the tributary area are invited to an informational workshop and to provide input.  The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, November 6, 2008, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at San José City Council Chambers (200 East Santa Clara Street, San Jose).  RSVP to Sandra Freitas by October 30, 2008.
