Menu Labeling

In September 2008, California became the first state in the nation to pass legislation requiring chain restaurants to provide nutritional information on menus and menu boards. Effective July 1, SB 1420 requires restaurants with 20 or more locations to make nutritional information available to customers in a phased-in approach. There are several ways to comply with the initial requirement and there is a second-tier requirement that will come into effect in 2011.
