Important changes to San Francisco menu labeling law
On June 10 Supervisor Ammiano introduced an amendment to the menu labeling ordinance at the Board of Supervisors.
Although the proposed legislation has not yet been adopted, the Department of Public Health (DPH) will follow the timelines and requirements set forth in the proposed legislation. In accordance with the timelines in this proposal, the DPH will not deem electronic reporting to be late until after Friday, August 1, 2008 and will not enforce the disclosure requirements for menus, menu boards or posters until after Saturday, September 20, 2008.
