San Diego Restaurateurs Endorse Mayor Sanders for Re-election in 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 24, 2007
San Diego, Calif. — The California Restaurant Association San Diego County chapter today announced its endorsement of Mayor Jerry Sanders for re-election in 2008.
“Mayor Sanders has been a champion for the business community here in San Diego while in office,” said Mike Mitchell, president of the CRA San Diego County chapter and general manager and operating partner of The Oceanaire Seafood Room. “We are pleased to endorse a candidate that continues to demonstrate support for the restaurant industry and its growth in San Diego.”
Mayor Sanders has been instrumental in the promotion of San Diego Restaurant Week—an event which the San Diego County chapter is a founding partner. He is also credited with crafting and successfully implementing—within the city’s budget—a five-year financial plan that contains numerous reforms efforts and proposed and successfully managed the campaigns for Propositions B and C.
“I appreciate the restaurant community’s support and the constructive role the association has played in moving our city forward,” said Mayor Sanders. “We share a concern for getting our city's finances back on track and making city government more accountable and responsive to its constituents."
