CRA Shasta Chapter Recognizes Community Favorites
Redding, Calif. – Top honors were handed out Monday night at the California Restaurant Association (CRA) Shasta Chapter’s 2007 Golden Plate Awards dinner, which took place at the Win-River Casino. More than 50 Redding-area restaurants were nominated and voted on by the community in 16 categories ranging from “Favorite Pizza” to “Favorite Steak House.”
“Because these winners are nominated and voted upon not only by their colleagues in the restaurant industry, but also those in the community, these awards are considered a tremendous honor,” said Scott Bailey, president of the CRA Shasta Chapter.
The following awards were given to the North Valley’s favorites:
Favorite Asian Restaurant – Sailing Boat Restaurant
Favorite Hamburger – In-N-Out
Favorite Pizza – Round Table Pizza
Favorite Sports Bar – The Sports Bar
Favorite Family Restaurant – Red Robin
Favorite Mexican Restaurant – Casa Ramos
Favorite Italian Restaurant – Olive Garden
Favorite Steak House – Jack’s Grill
Favorite Seafood Restaurant – Red Lobster
People’s Choice – Logan’s Roadhouse
Purveyor of the Year – U.S. Foodservice
Manager of the Year – Kris Racy, Elements at Win-River
Favorite Bartender – Mike Woodrum, Jack’s Grill
Best Back of the House Employee – Taylor Smith, Logan’s Roadhouse
Favorite Server – Kristy Coffee, Gironda’s Restaurant
Restaurateur of the Year – Jeff Garrett, Cool Hand Lukes, Jeff’s California Cattle Co. and Lumberjack’s
The Shasta Chapter also donated $1,500 to the Shasta Senior Nutrition Center of Redding for new kitchen equipment.
