Tune in Friday to ‘Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution’
Three Southern California ProStart schools will be featured on the Emmy-winning show
Fans of the Emmy-winning “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” will get a glimpse at the talent and determination of ProStart students when the next episode airs at 9 p.m. Friday on ABC.
After being prohibited to film in the Los Angeles Unified School District, Oliver had to get creative to influence a change in the food being served in schools. One strategy he employed was sponsoring a district-wide culinary competition, inviting students to convene in downtown Los Angeles to prepare an original, healthy recipe. Each participating school was assigned a celebrity chef mentor, who worked with the team to hone their dishes.
Three ProStart schools, Santee Education Complex, Lynnwood High School and El Rancho High School, participated in the competition, which will be featured in the episode Friday.
