Top Chef Junior series looking for ProStart® students

Bravo TV is casting for a new Top Chef Junior reality TV series and is looking for teenagers between the ages of 15-18 to participate. The show is familiar with ProStart's reputation and size, and has expressed interest in hearing from students in the program.

This is a tremendous opportunity not only for our students but also great exposure for ProStart should our students be selected to compete. 

Information for interested students:

  • Must be between the ages of 15-18 (NOTE: they must be between these ages while filming—through December 2008) and can be in high school, college or in the workforce.
  • Filming will take place in Los Angeles for three to four weeks this fall, 2008.
  • Minors not from Southern California and one guardian will be flown to the Los Angeles area and accommodated at a hotel for the duration of filming.
  • Tutors and educators will be on-site for students still in high school.
  • At the end of filming each day, participants will go home or back to the hotel—they will not be living in a communal housing environment like the adult version of Top Chef.
  • There is no elimination process; all participants will stay and compete for the duration of filming (the process of selecting a winner and prizes is still being determined).

To apply:

  • E-mail name, age, area of residence, contact information, a photo, a brief description of self, and why they'd be good for the show to Caroline Johnson-Stephens (see attached posting). This should be done immediately, before completing the steps below.
  • Fill out and submit the attached application.
  • Prepare and submit an audition video.
  • Mention your affiliation with ProStart.

Applications should be submitted immediately as the Top Chef team will begin reviewing applications in the next two weeks. Producers will hold on to the applications of students who are not selected this season for consideration in future seasons.  Students who are selected should immediately contact their ProStart coordinator.
