Action needed: Help oppose the San Francisco toy ban

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors will consider a proposed ban on toys and other incentives offered with certain meals in restaurants as early as Sept. 13. Supervisor Eric Mar introduced the legislation in attempt to address childhood obesity, but the proposal is shortsighted and overreaching, infringing on the rights of parents to make choices for their children.
California’s menu labeling law provides parents with the tools they need to make informed decisions about nutrition. Mar’s legislation insinuates that the City and County of San Francisco should make the decision instead of parents.
