Restaurant education foundation selects executive director
Sacramento, Calif. - Jim Hubbard has been named executive director of the California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (CRAEF). A non-profit leader for the past 17 years, Hubbard most recently worked for more than seven years in Houston, Texas as president of Prevent Blindness Texas. He also served four years in New Orleans as CEO of the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross.
“Jim has amazing experience leading non-profits and we are counting on him to help CRAEF grow and build our fundraising capabilities so that the foundation can provide more scholarships and services to youth interested in entering the restaurant and hospitality industry,” said Jot Condie, president + CEO of the California Restaurant Association and CRAEF.
Hubbard’s responsibilities will include: recruiting and training board members; development of programs and budgets; fundraising through special events, grants, direct mail and major gifts; and planned-giving work, strategic planning and community relations.
Earlier in his career, Hubbard spent many years in finance and accounting, consulting and non-profit management and fundraising. Additionally Hubbard has many years of experience in building, working with and training non-profit boards that are recruited from diverse backgrounds.
